April Update

Dear Shrooly Backers,

As April soon comes to a close, we’re excited to share our latest update! We’ll cover fulfillment, product and cultivation updates, and user experience improvements.

Shipping Updates

EU and Europe

We’re happy to share that we are continuing to ship from stock after successfully fulfilling all crowdfunding and preorder shipments in Europe where Pod Credits were claimed. If you’ve placed an order to a European address and are still waiting for your Shrooly and Pods to be shipped, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re happy to assist you with the final steps necessary before shipping your order.

United States

We’re excited to share that we have started shipping to all 50 states within the US at the end of February.

Canada, Australia, and Other Regions

We truly understand how excited customers in Canada, Australia, and other regions are to receive their Shrooly and start growing mushrooms at home. While we’ve successfully shipped all orders in Europe and launched in the United States, setting up reliable delivery to additional regions requires a bit more time. This gradual ramp-up ensures we can provide the high-quality service and products you deserve. We know how eager you are to receive your Shrooly, but this extra time allows us to stay true to our top priority: giving every backer and customer the best possible experience—from the moment their order arrives to every harvest that follows.

Product Updates

Wi-Fi Improvements

If you’ve already received your Shrooly and connected it to a Wi-Fi network, you might have noticed that the list of available networks isn’t shown — instead, you need to manually enter your network’s name (SSID). To improve this experience, we’ve started working on an updated Wi-Fi connection process that will let users select from a list of available networks directly within the mobile app. This update will make establishing a Wi-Fi connection more convenient and user-friendly.

Mushroom-Specific High Temperature Warnings

Until now, high temperature warnings were triggered by a single threshold, even though the optimal maximum temperature varies between mushroom types. To make the growing process even more user-friendly, we’ve started implementing mushroom-specific temperature warnings. This means that the ‘Temperature too low’ and ‘Temperature too high’ alerts will be tailored to the selected mushroom type, helping you choose the best placement for your Shrooly.

New Login Method for the Shrooly App on Android

On iOS, our users have the option to log in either using their email address or with their Apple ID. So far, Android users have only had one option to log in to the app, using their email address. Moving forward, Android users will now have the option to log in to the Shrooly app using their Google account, providing another, more convenient option.

User Experience Improvements

Growing Guidance Emails

We’ve created an email flow for users who’ve started cultivating, sharing tips and tricks to help them get the best harvest possible — exactly when they need it.

We listened to feedback and realized how important it is to have the right information at just the right time. Since Shrooly is a product that most of our customers have probably never used anything similar to before, the Growing Guidance emails will provide helpful information to guide you through the process, tailored to the specific mushroom you’re growing. These emails cover each stage of the growing process, so you’ll always know what to expect and what the next step is.

While we’re still testing these emails in Europe, we will introduce them in the United States in early May, after everything has been refined.

Membership Improvements

We introduced our Membership this year, and we’ve made improvements to it over the last couple of weeks. We listened to your feedback, and in response, we’ve added the option to include accessories like the HEPA filter and humidifier wick in upcoming orders through a convenient dashboard available at shrooly.com/account/membership. This way, you can always make sure you have everything you need for a successful cultivation.

We’re happy to share that, after these improvements, the Membership is now also available in the United States.

Pod Claiming Dashboard Improvements

We’re excited to share that we’ve made some improvements to the Pod Claiming dashboard to make it as user-friendly as possible. While the dashboard looks pretty similar to what it did before, we’ve updated the backend and fixed some bugs to give you a smoother experience. The dashboard is now integrated into the Shrooly app, so you can manage your entire Shrooly experience on one platform.

What’s Ahead?

We’ll continue to focus our efforts on ramping up our US fulfillment operations, and will continue refining your experience with the Shrooly, the Shrooly app, and the Growing Guidance emails.

Tariffs on International Items

We’re keeping a close eye on the recent updates regarding new tariffs on goods imported from China. Since our devices are currently manufactured there, these changes could significantly increase our production costs. While these updates are still very recent, we’re monitoring the situation carefully and also looking into alternative production locations. We’re working with a global manufacturing partner, and we’re actively exploring ways to reduce our reliance on the current setup.
